This lesson teaches students the basics of rounding numbers and estimating sums and differences. Before the actual lessons students use Padlet and create a spreadsheet to display their data. Within the lessons students are interactively discussing and developing the concepts they are learning. After class they have the opportunity to identify where and when they use the estimating method in their daily lives and can share it with their peers.
I loved your summary of the lesson. Your lesson plan is well thought out and hits some basic elements of backward design. A good job! If your summary began with stating learning goals (or desired results) instead of listing contents, it would have sounded like more a backward design framework based one. :)
